Aluminum metal stamping die interface
Although metal stamping aluminum is very soft, it can still be abraded, and the aluminum oxide material used to make the grinding wheel can imagine the hardness. Although it usually does not rust, it forms a white powdery substance called alumina. This means that there may be the same abrasive on the surface of the aluminum plate that you use to grind the tool steel mold part.
You can prevent this poor interface by using a high-pressure barrier lubricant that prevents aluminum from contacting tool steel profiles during forming and cutting.
